Hey guys, today we’re rocking it ‘back to the future’ style. I found a cool little film clip of a sculpture made by a French artist named Nils Guadagnin.
The sculpture is a remake of the hover board from the movie “Back to the Future II”. It uses an electromagnetic system embedded into the board and the stand to make it float and a laser system to keep it stabilized. Quite a clever innovation if you ask me.
Check it out:
I absolutely love this sculpture, if it was for sale, i’d be the first one at the art auction. I’d love to have a floating board next to me while I worked on my projects, it would give quite a lot of inspiration IMO.
The creator did a fantastic job creating this, I applaud him.
Hey guys, today I have a newly released game to show you, it’s made by my good internet-friend Ralph Damiano (of For The Loss). It’s called “Oil Spill Escape” and I helped in the development process by testing the beta versions and giving ideas for features of the game. I also gave Ralph the idea for the title of the game.
It’s a game where you have to help a fish escape from an underwater cloud of oil that was spilled into the Gulf of Mexico by BP. The aim of the game is you have to eat as much of the smaller fish as possible to swim faster and keep your speed up, if you slow down too much, the oil will catch up to you and you will loose. You also have to avoid rocks by either jumping over them or swimming through the holes.
Anyway, here it is, enjoy!:
Pretty f**king amazing am I right? He definitely did a great job making this game, it’s just a shame it took so long for him to get it released because not many people are talking about the BP spill anymore.
I give it a 10/10, it’s sooo addicting it’s not even funny. P.S, check out the leader-boards, look for me (S_Byrnes).
Hey guys, today I saw a pretty cool stop-motion lego video on youtube and thought I would show it to you all.
It’s called “Lego Street Shootout” and is basically a little animated short of one guy going against a gang or something.
Anyway, enjoy!
Although there isn’t much of a storyline, it’s pretty well done, especially with an auto-focusing camera, because that would have been hard to get the focus right.
I give this a 8.5 out of 10, the downfall of it is it’s shaky camera movements, even though it’s stop-motion, it could have been a bit better..
Hey guys, today I have a cool art piece to show you. It’s made one of my friends on Skype who is also a regular user of a few of my websites. He also has an up-coming website which will give tips on both designing and coding.
This art piece is called “Spectrum Typo”, like typography. Each code in this image is colored the same as it’s hexadecimal equivalent.
Here it is:
Click the image for full size.
I love this image, I was watching him make progress throughout the whole thing because he would upload the image as it was in different stages and show it to me as he was going.
If you stand a bit away from your computer screen, you can see how the colors blend really nicely and seamlessly.
This art piece really deserves more than just this post, so you need to Digg, Stumble and Comment the hell out of it!
Hey guys, today I was referred to a cool flash game by one of my friends. So I checked it out and loved it.
It’s a game where you control a “Runner” similar to the character Faith in “Mirrors Edge”, you must dodge obstacles on your way from one end of the level to the other but do it as quickly as possible.
I like this game so much, because it is very addicting and just all-around fun to play. Plus it’s fast-paced style keeps you glued to the screen making it near-impossible to stop.
When I first played it I got hooked and couldn’t stop playing it until I had finished the game, no matter how many times I had died (*cough*millions*cough*)..
I give this game a 10/10, nothing could be improved.
